Ethics Policy
“Knox County citizens want
integrity restored to their Government. I believe ethical
behavior should start at the top of any organization and I want
the public to know the measures I will put in place to regain
the trust they have lost in their Public Officials.”
- No Member of the trustee’s family
shall be employed by the office.
- The trustee shall not employ any
elected official or their immediate family.
- No Employee, including the Trustee
shall receive any gift or payment of any value from
institutions doing business with the Trustee’s office.
- The Trustees office shall be a “Drug
Free Workplace”.
- Harassment of any kind will not be
tolerated. An open door policy by which employees may
discuss any issue with the Trustee will be in place.
- Political activity by any employee
including the Trustee must be done on the employee’s own
time and no county resources shall be spent on such activity
overtly or otherwise.
- Trustee’s direct phone number and
email address shall be boldly visible at all office
locations. The trustee’s web site will also contain contact
information.
In addition, I
will adopt the full recommendations of the current Ethics
Committee regardless of any action taken by the Knox County
Commission.
